GPP’ s system is based on a blockchain technology that guarantees the security and inviolability of data. The structure is shared via a peer-to-peer network between users and miners and is immutable: each block of data is connected to the previous one by encryption. The blockchain structure - the same used for cryptocurrencies - ensures data safety and anonymity and keep the user as the sole proprietor of data. The data are encrypted to be protected from being hacked, stolen, modified or used for illicit purposes.
All data gathered are secured and transparent, thanks to a technology that ensures data safety and anonymity by keeping the user as the sole proprietor of data;
The information will be stored on the Blockchain, not on third parties’ servers (e.g. supranational or government entities);
The information will be encrypted to prevent its use for illegal purposes.
The Blockchain and IPFS guarantee that the data are not stored on the servers of multinationals or government organizations. This ensures that the user's sensitive data cannot be copied or exploited in any way. Furthermore, if, for any reason, the company or the government organization providing the service should interrupt it for censorship reasons, the user will in any case have the possibility to recover his data.
GDPR requirements.
The protection of this data will also comply with the GDPR requirements.
GPP enables migrants to upload on the Blockchain and IPFS all the sensitive information that are necessary for their identification (by NGOs, solidarity structures, as well as legal courts in the destination countries where they apply for asylum).
GDPR demands that the proprietor of the data must be able to delete his/her data from the system at any time. Article 17 of the GDPR establishes that the data subject has the right to demand the deletion of his/her personal data as easily as he/she expressed his/her consent to the treatment of his/her data.
Both the Blockchain and the IPFS give the possibility to track, view and search data, as they manage information in a decentralized way. Since the bulk of the stored data of the mobile App will be made of sensitive data (e.g., passports, IDs, vaccination reports, etc.), it will be crucial to encrypt them and make them readable and accessible only to their proprietor or the operators of the civil society organizations that will be authorized by the proprietor through a temporary token. The data encrypted on the Blockchain and the IPFS will be visible to everybody, but being encrypted (and requiring a private key), it will not be possible to read them
